The Cayembe Telegraph
The cayembe is the "sandpaper tree," so called because its beaded leaves are used for that purpose. The "cayembe telegraph" is local slang for the gossip chain: rough tongues wagging across the savannas.
Our Cayembe Telegraph is a village newsletter written by different Editors in turn and published by the Yupukari Public Library. The mission of the Telegraph is to provide an equitable public forum for information and opinion on issues important to villagers.
